Policy Dialogue on Mature Workers in Organisations

Information for the live-stream

If you are registering for the live-stream, the weblink with instructions on how to join will be sent via email ahead of the event.

Information for the in person on-site event

If you are registering for the in person on-site event, you agree you have read the ANU guidance to help protect the health of yourself and others.

The event will be held in a COVIDSafe environment.

The following conditions apply on entry to the premises:

Visitors are not permitted to come on to ANU Campus on the day if they:

• are unwell.
• are experiencing any cold- or flu-like symptoms (sore throat, runny nose, persistent cough, shortness of breath, fever, etc.).
• have been tested for COVID-19 and are awaiting test results.
• are required to self-isolate because they have had contact with someone with a proven or suspected case of COVID-19.
• meet the criteria to complete a 14-day quarantine period as advised by ACT Health (you must quarantine for the full 14 days even if you get a negative test result).

All visitors to ANU campus venues must adhere to the following:

• Follow COVID-safe measures (listed below)
• Follow the instructions of ANU staff regarding COVID-safe protocol.

COVID-safe measures

Hygiene

• Wash and sanitise your hands regularly, especially after touching communal surfaces.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Also avoid close contact with colleagues and peers, such as handshakes and hugs.
• Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing and sneezing, or cough into your elbow.
• Throw used tissues into a bin immediately and wash your hands.
• Maintain a physical distance of 1.5 metres from other people.

Isolate

• Stay home and isolate if you are unwell, especially if you are coughing or sneezing.
• If you are sick and think you might have COVID-19, check your symptoms using healthdirect's Coronavirus (COVID-19) Symptom Checker.
• If you need support while isolating, please contact Communitywellbeing@anu.edu.au.

Testing

• Cold, flu and hay fever symptoms are now COVID-19 until proven otherwise.
• If you get any symptoms, such as fever, cough, sore throat and shortness of breath, get tested for COVID-19 immediately.

Stay informed

• You don't have to obsessively follow the pandemic, but you do need to remain alert. Things can change quickly and when they do, we need to act immediately to ensure we get on top of things.
• Stay in touch with the latest health advice in your area and respond when required. If you are on campus, make sure you are familiar with the ANU COVID-safe campus alert system.

Masks

Wearing a mask on campus is not mandatory at the current low risk level, but we encourage wearing a face covering if you are unable to physically distance when coming on to campus to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community.

* Note: The safety and wellbeing of participants is paramount to the Policy Dialogue committee. We acknowledge the ever-changing COVID-19 situation has created uncertainty, also in terms of future travel, both interstate and overseas. At this stage the event will take place with a mix of in-person and online participation in a COVIDsafe environment and subject to the COVID-19 caveat with regard to government and university restrictions in place at the time, however, if circumstances restrict this we will convert to an online event entirely. All registered participants will be kept updated.
